Web browser combines social networking and live search

New Zealand Firm Aspiring Software Limited has created a web browser that integrates social networking, social bookmarking and live searching. It’s all about u! Consolidate your presence on the web: social networking pages - facebook, myspace, bebo, web site, media articles, blog, group, organization, products, promotions, YouTube clips… all in 1 place. e.g. musician Anneka Thwaites’ Q.

pageQ® Browser allows web researchers/surfers to create a ‘playlist’ of favorite web pages. pageQ consists of a browser window, a web page playlist (a ‘Q’), a player toolbar with play, pause, stop, ff, rewind… controls, and a ‘camera icon’ to capture pages into the Q sequence. Like iTunes, but for web pages.  pageQ Browser Pro is free @ www.pageQ.com

Q®s (web page playlists) can be created, annotated, branded, saved, modified, emailed and uploaded to the web. Drag and drop from existing favorites and history to help build Qs. Any page you browse to can be captured in a Q. i.e. from a google search, type a url, link etc… Q files are tiny, like a txt email (10-30k).

QNet is a library of Qs on the web. It is newly born and the content is growing fast. “Web research by real human beings”. Qs found on QNet can be ‘open’ for wiki type contribution or password protected in public or private groups. Comments and rating of Qs are provided on QNet.

QSearch is a search engine that returns a list of Qs from QNet based on your search query. Select a Q from the results page and it downloads into your browser. If you have pageQ you can search QNet, download a Q into pageQ, modify it, save it locally, email or re-upload your contribution. Q Search

pageQ designer, John Blennerhassett comments: “The creation of Qs will consolidate the increasingly fragmented web into related and relevant ‘nuggets’ of information that can be searched on. The ease of sharing Qs, continuously improving Q content, and the community that is developing around QNet is most exciting. ” pageQ has a US Patent # 7480694 for its browser software technology. Kate Russell from the BBC Click Online program has this to say about pageQ - “www.pageq.com is the home of an application that allows you to create a slideshow of selected web pages, which can then be saved for future reference, or emailed to a friend to share. I've checked this download out, and cannot find fault with it - all it contains is a really cool program. It could prove to be the new way to submit your suggestions to Webscape.”
